Motoaki Hara
Biography
Motoaki Hara is a Senior Researcher at the Space-Time Standards
Laboratory within the Electromagnetic Standards Research Center at the
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)
in Tokyo, Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Tohoku
University. He previously worked at Fujitsu Laboratories, focusing on
SAW and BAW filters and RF modules. From 2011 to 2013, he served as
Assistant and Associate Professor at Tohoku University, conducting
research on MEMS-based sensor network devices. Since joining NICT in
2016, his work has centered on ultra-miniaturization of frequency and
time standards using microdevice technologies such as MEMS, CMOS, and
VCSEL. He is currently exploring innovative applications of atomic
clocks for resilient communication infrastructures.
